Hoo boy. Well the Anti-Fan drama is from 10 years ago. BUT Butch cant let sleeping dogs lie. You cant escape drama in a fandom when its the creator thats causing it.

Shit I havent even been active in the fandom in a while, but now DP stuff is on my dash again cause Butch is being passive aggressive.

Ok so back in the day, when tumblr didnt exist, we got our fandom content from forums. Butch Hartman (the creator of Danny phantom) had his own forum for fans of his shows. He made it a rule on his forums that if you shipped gay characters, or had gay headcanons you were banned with no warning. Even if you never posted about it on that forum. Meaning, his mods would stalk you on other forums and deviantart, and if they found out you shipped gay characters, you were banned.

They called it ‘filth’ and called them Anti-Fans. Fans who dont hold up the ‘purity’ of the show. Now notice I didnt even say porn. This wasnt about porn. (though it certainly existed, because internet). This was about Butch (and by extension his mods) religious beliefs that gay=evil and will corrupt the children. (even though all these people being banned WERE children)

Now I hate fandom drama. But Butch Hartman has always been the main drama stirrer in the DP fandom. HE has always been the ‘dont post about non-canon stuff guy’ (but that would at least get you a warning unlike anything gay). This included if you wrote fics about OCs.

Fast forward ten years. Butch has never interacted with his fandom since DPs cancellation. With the exception of when hes try to drum up interest for some new show of his. And hes doing it again currently with whatever the heck that new show hes making is.
But he also decided to make a ‘107 facts about DP’ list, JUST to refute people headcanons. Butch does not like not being 100% in control of his content. Doesnt matter what the headcanon is. But the fact that people had some lgbt headcanons must have really ruffled his feathers.

All this drama died down years ago. But here comes Butch with to try and stir it up again when no one wants to deal with this shit.
